Born:
MARCH 6, ( a-long time ago) , Tom got interested in music by watching
his
Father play guitar for his own enjoyment . While attending H.S.
he got together with a
classmate & started playing for his church,
& learning all the top hits of the 50 & 60’s. In
1965 he & a neighbor formed a band called "the Ravengers".
They played at Local dances & block parties this was followed by the
another group called the" Bellboys", soon the “ Bellboys” found
themselves Professionally playing at Night-clubs, by 1968 they started
playing regularly in the Greenwich Village area, notably "the
Village Gate", "Bottom line" "Café Bizaree"
& "Café Wha". Then
came the group called "Eve of Eden” an “Original’s group”
He wrote some songs for the group & recorded there first album in
1972 at the Electric Lady
Studios. In 1973 they were signed by Buddhah Records, but with little
success. They were also backing up Luther Vandross, & were the
opening group for Bette Middler & Barry Manilow . |

In
1975 He met Co-Worker Earl Lewis ( The Channels ) & became musical
Director for his Group until 1991 when Sam ( SammySax )
took over as Musical Director, Tom continued as lead guitarist
until 2005 & joined a New Group being formed by fellow musician
SammySax & continued with him as lead guitarist for “SammySax
& the M. D’s”
Throughout
the years he has played on Movie sound tracks, commercials, PBS Specials
& has collaborated with such music notables as Nile Rogers, Bernard
Edwards. Tom
is a Trivia-Nut & enjoys being a Volunteer Fire fighter. Playing
with SammySax & the M. D’s is something that he loves to do, &
the opportunity to back–up the legendary Rock-n-Roll groups with hand
picked professional musicians is a dream come true for him. |
